Style how screens show photos
Style how your photos appear on every screen — edge to edge or framed, cut or crossfade, over black, a blurred copy or a gradient — for all screens or one at a time.
The Styling pane decides how screens draw their photo — this computer's displays, the Live pages on the network and the screens other computers lend. Changes show on the screens at once.
Defaults or one screen
A row of boxes along the top: Defaults, then each screen. Pick Defaults to change every screen that has no styling of its own, or pick a screen to give it its own. A screen with its own styling has an × on its box, which puts it back on the defaults.
The settings
- Fit to screen — on, the photo fills the screen edge to edge; off, it is drawn a little smaller, framed like the viewer's card, with rounded corners and a shadow.
Fin a screen window flips this for that screen alone. - Fade between pictures — a new photo cross-fades in over the old one instead of cutting, over the Duration you set.
- Background — what is behind the photo:
- Off — black;
- Blurred image — the photo itself, blurred and dimmed, with Intensity and Blur radius;
- Gradient — a dark gradient in the photo's colours, or with Use photo colours off, your own: click a corner to choose its colour.
- Grain — a faint film grain over the background, to break up banding, with Intensity; Animate runs it like film.
A stats screen takes only the Background, and shows the blurred image while the default is Off. A split display has one background across all its tiles.
