Copy one photo's edits to others
Get one photo right, then paste the same edits — light, colour, black and white, presets — onto the rest of the shoot without opening the editor again.
Copy edits
Right-click an edited photo and choose Copy edits, or press Ctrl+Shift+C. This works in the grid, the viewer and popup windows. It copies the photo's look — light, colour, black and white, presets and layers — but not its crop, because a crop belongs to one frame.
The copied edit stays in Portman2 until you copy another one or close the app. It does not replace the files Ctrl+C puts on the clipboard.
Paste edits
Select the photos to change, then choose Paste edits from the photo menu or press Ctrl+Shift+V. In the viewer and in popup windows it pastes onto the photo on screen.
Pasting is the same as pressing Save in the editor: each photo's original goes to the originals folder first, the photo gets the Edited mark, and other computers sharing the library pick up the change.
- The pasted look replaces any edit a photo already had. Each photo keeps its own crop.
- The photo the edits were copied from is left as it is.
- Videos and RAW files are skipped, and the notice says how many. For a RAW file, open it in the editor and use Save as copy.
- A photo whose originals folder this computer cannot read is skipped as well.
Undo
A paste is one step on the undo list, however many photos it changed. Ctrl+Z, or Undo on the notice, gives every photo back the edit it had before. A photo that had no edit goes back to its original.
