The sidebar: albums, tags and dates
The sidebar picks what the grid shows: the whole library, only photos or videos, an album, a tag, your starred, hidden or edited photos, duplicates, or a date.
Every row carries a count.
The top three rows
- All images — the whole library, with every narrowing cleared.
- Photos and Videos — narrow whatever you are looking at to photographs or to videos. Inside an album they narrow that album. Click the lit row again to show both. Right-click Videos to show or hide the videos bar.
Albums
The Albums section lists your albums as a tree; the + beside its heading makes a new one. See Albums.
Tags
The Tags section appears once the library has a tag. It is collapsed at first; click its heading to open it. Click a tag to see everything with that tag.
Library
- Starred — the photos you have starred.
- Last Import — what recent imports brought in (see Last Import).
- Hidden — photos kept out of the other views; it asks for a PIN.
- Trash — photos waiting to be deleted.
- Edited — every photo you have edited.
- Duplicates — groups of photos that look the same.
Dates
Below them is the date tree: years, which open into months, which open into days. Click the chevron to open a year or month, and the row itself to show it. Undated collects photos with no capture date. See Browsing by date.
Drop targets
Album rows, tag rows, Starred, Hidden and Trash all accept photos dragged from the grid.
