Portman2 is in beta. Features are still being added, nothing here should be taken as final, and things can change or be removed without notice.

Multi screen

Tell your screens apart

Number every screen Portman2 can use — monitors, tablets, other computers' displays — on the screen itself, so you know which box is which.

Two buttons at the top of Screens ▸ Setup help you tell the screens apart.

Identify

Identify numbers every screen — this computer's displays, the live pages on the network and other machines' screens — and puts each number on the screen itself for four seconds, the way Windows does for its displays. The same numbers are drawn in the boxes on the Setup pane, so you can match a box to the screen in the room. Hover a box for everything Portman2 knows about that screen: its resolution, scaling, connection, browser or device.

Screens Overview

Overview opens a separate window that shows every screen as a device in a 3D room — monitors, laptops, tablets — each showing what it is actually showing.

  • Drag a device to move it across the floor.
  • Drag the room to look round it, Ctrl+drag to pan, and use the wheel to come closer.
  • Select a device to set its turn, height, size and stand on the panel.
  • Switches show the app's own window, orbit the camera and label the devices; the room's wall tint, gradient, floor grid and rounded edges can be changed too.
  • Reset puts the view, the layout or hidden devices back.
  • Export saves a picture of the room, optionally as a transparent PNG of the devices alone; Show in folder finds it afterwards.

The layout and options are remembered.
