Split one display into two or four
Split one monitor or television into two screens side by side, or four in a grid — to show four Compare & pick candidates at once on a large TV, say.
Splitting
In Screens ▸ Setup, right-click a display's box and choose Split into 2 (side by side) or Split into 4. The box keeps the display's own shape and draws the tiles inside it. Each tile is its own drop target: drag a mode onto a tile to give that tile its mode.
Don't split on the same menu puts the display back to one screen.
How a split display behaves
- Identify numbers the tiles rather than the display.
- The display has one background across all its tiles; a gradient background takes each tile's colours in that tile's part.
Esc,F11andFin the screen window act on the display as a whole.
Splits work on the screens other machines lend as well: the machine lending them shows the tiles you chose.
