Create and organise albums
Create albums and sub-albums and arrange them in a tree by dragging. Adding a photo to an album never moves or copies the file, so one photo can be in many.
Albums live in the Albums section of the sidebar.
Creating an album
- Click + beside the Albums heading and type a name.
- Right-click an album and choose New sub-album… to make one inside it.
- Choose New album… on the Add to album page of the photo menu to make an album and file the photos into it in one go.
Organising the tree
- Drag an album onto another to move it inside that one. Hovering a dragged album over a closed album opens it after a moment.
- Drag an album into the gap between two rows to reorder it.
- Drag an album onto the Albums heading to move it back to the top level.
- Click the chevron beside an album to show or hide its sub-albums.
Renaming and deleting
Right-click an album for Rename… and Delete album. Deleting asks first, and deletes the album's sub-albums with it; the photos themselves stay in the library.
Sub-albums
An album shows its own photos and those of all its sub-albums. When it has sub-albums, a This album only switch above the grid narrows it to the album's own photos.
When two computers disagree
If two computers moved two albums under each other at the same time, one of them ends up at the top level with a warning mark. Move it where you want it and the mark goes.
