Portman2 is in beta. Features are still being added, nothing here should be taken as final, and things can change or be removed without notice.

Rotate photos and copy files

Rotate photos a quarter turn with one key, open a photo's folder in Explorer, or copy the files to paste into a folder or attach to an email.

These work on the selection, or on the highlighted photo, from the grid, the viewer and popup windows.

Rotating

R turns the photo a quarter turn clockwise and Shift+R counter-clockwise. The turn shows at once and the file is written a moment later. Videos and RAW files cannot be rotated; the notice says how many were left alone. A rotation can be undone with Ctrl+Z.

Reveal in Explorer

E, or Reveal in Explorer on the photo menu, opens the folder holding the file with the file selected. It works on one photo at a time. The copy button on the same menu row copies the file's full path instead, without opening anything. Neither is offered for a virtual copy, which has no file of its own.

Copying files

Ctrl+C copies the files themselves to the clipboard, so you can paste them into Explorer or attach them to an email. Their paths go onto the clipboard as text as well.

Pasting into an album

In an album view, Ctrl+V adds the photos on the clipboard to that album; right-clicking an album in the sidebar offers Paste too, naming how many photos it would add. Only files that are already in the library are added — anything else on the clipboard is ignored.
