When two computers edit the same photo
If two computers edit the same photo before they have heard from each other, Portman2 keeps both looks rather than silently losing one.
The photo keeps one of the edits, and the other appears beside it as an extra copy of the photo carrying an amber badge — on its tile, and beside the viewer's selection circle.
Settling it
Right-click the copy with the amber badge. Its menu has three extra rows:
- Keep this version — the look on this copy goes onto the photo, and the copy goes away;
- Keep the other version — the photo keeps the look it has, and the copy goes away;
- Keep both — both looks stay: the copy becomes an ordinary virtual copy and loses its badge.
Each answer is saved like any other change, so whichever computer you settle it on, the others follow. It works on one photo at a time: "this" and "the other" only make sense for one.
Albums
Albums can disagree too. If two computers moved two albums under each other at the same moment, the later move wins and the other album is put at the top level of the tree, with a warning mark. Move it where you want it and the mark goes.
