Browse photos by date
Browse your photos by year, month and day in the sidebar's date tree, from a whole year down to a single day.
The Dates section at the bottom of the sidebar lists every year the library holds photos from, with a count beside each.
Opening the tree
- Click a year to show that whole year in the grid.
- Click the chevron beside a year to open it into months; the chevron beside a month opens it into days.
- Click a month or a day to show just that period.
Only one year and one month are open at a time, which keeps the list short.
Undated
Photos with no capture date are collected under Undated at the end of the list, when there are any.
Go to the day
From anywhere — an album, a search, the viewer — right-click a single photo and choose Go to the day. The date tree opens to that photo's day, the grid shows the day, and the photo is highlighted and scrolled into view. Your search, filter and the Photos or Videos choice stay on, so if one of them hides the photo in its own day, the app says so and offers to clear it.
Go to the day is greyed out when several photos are targeted, for a photo in the trash, and for a photo with no capture date.
Order
Grids list newest first or oldest first; the choice is in the tile size panel.
