Open a photo in its own window
Open a photo or video in a window of its own, sized to its shape, and keep it on a second screen while you go on working.
There are three ways to open a photo in a popup window:
Ctrl+click its tile in the grid;- press
Ctrl+Enteron the highlighted tile, or in the viewer; - choose Open in new window on the photo menu.
The window is sized to the photo's shape. A video plays in it at its own shape; click the picture to pause or play it.
Closing
Press Space, Enter or Esc in the popup, or close it like any other window. Closing a popup leaves the grid and any other popups as they were.
Why use one
A popup stays open while you go on working in the main window, so you can keep a reference photo on a second screen, compare a photo with the grid, or look at several photos side by side by opening each in its own window.
