Compare photos side by side
Compare a few photos side by side and press Del to drop the weakest; the next photo waiting on the bench takes its place, until only the keepers are left.
The sheet shows a few photos at once; the rest wait on the bench at the bottom.
Choosing one
Click a photo, or move with the arrow keys, to highlight it. Hold Space to see the highlighted photo full screen on black, and let go to come back.
How many at once
+ shows fewer, larger photos and − more, smaller ones: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 16 or 20. The magnifier control in the header does the same and shows the current count.
Removing
Press Del to remove the highlighted photo. Its place is refilled from the bench. When the bench runs out, the sheet closes up around the gap. Ctrl+Z puts the last removed photo back exactly where it was.
Paging a cell through the bench
PageDown and PageUp swap the highlighted cell for the next or previous photo waiting on the bench; the mouse wheel over a cell does the same. Clicking a photo on the bench brings it into the highlighted cell.
Locking
Press L to lock the highlighted photo. A locked photo carries a padlock and stays where it is: Del, paging and the bench leave it alone. Click the padlock, or press L again, to unlock it. Changing how many are on screen can still move a locked photo off the sheet, but it stays in play.
