Portman2 is in beta. Features are still being added, nothing here should be taken as final, and things can change or be removed without notice.

Phones, tablets and the LAN

Sort photos into albums on a phone

Sort photos into albums, star them or move them to the trash from your phone, and the desktop shows the change within a couple of seconds.

Those are the few things the LAN pages can change in the library: albums, stars and the trash. Every change is recorded in the library's log.

Selecting

Tap Select above a grid to start selecting; a tap then ticks a photo instead of opening it.

Select all (N) ticks the whole list — for a very long list it offers the first 5,000.

The chip at the top counts the selection; tap it to leave selection mode.

Putting photos in an album

With photos selected, or on a single photo's page, open Put these in an album and tap an album to file them there. Type a name in New album… and press Create & add to make an album and file them in one go. In an album, the same panel can take photos out of it and delete the album, after asking.

Starring

The star button stars the selection, or the photo on screen. If every one is already starred, it takes the stars off.

The trash

Move to the trash is at the foot of the album panel and on each photo's page. It asks first. Deleting forever is not possible from a phone — only from the desktop.

After a change, a notice says what happened and offers to put it back. On a keyboard, L opens the album panel, Shift+L removes from the album, S stars and Del trashes.
