Portman2 is in beta. Features are still being added, nothing here should be taken as final, and things can change or be removed without notice.

Add photos to an album

Add the selected photos — or the highlighted one — to an album with one key, from the photo menu, by dragging or by pasting, and take them out again as easily.

The Add to album page

Press L, or choose Add to album on the photo menu. The page lists your albums as a tree with their counts. The album you used last is pinned at the top, so L then Enter files into it again. New album… at the bottom makes an album and files the photos into it.

Dragging

Drag photos from the grid onto an album in the sidebar. Dragging a selected photo carries the whole selection.

Album slots

Give your most-used albums a number, and file with one key. See Album slots.

Pasting

Copy photos with Ctrl+C, open an album and press Ctrl+V to add them.

Taking photos out

  • Inside an album view, press Shift+L or choose Remove from album. Outside an album view Shift+L says to open the album first, rather than guessing which one you meant.
  • In the viewer, click the album's chip and choose Remove from album.
  • Shift with a slot's digit removes from that slot's album.

Every add and remove shows a notice with Undo. Adding photos that are already in the album says so and changes nothing.
