Portman2 is in beta. Features are still being added, nothing here should be taken as final, and things can change or be removed without notice.

The right-click photo menu

Right-click a photo, or a whole selection, for everything Portman2 can do with it: albums, tags, stars, editing, slideshows, finding similar photos and more.

Right-click a tile, press Alt+Enter, or click ⋮ on the selection tray to open the photo menu. Its heading names the photo, or says how many are selected.

What it acts on

In the grid the menu acts on the selection when there is one, and otherwise on the photo you right-clicked. In the viewer and in popup windows it acts on the photo on screen only.

What it offers

  • Add to album and Tag open pages listing your albums and tags, with the one you used last pinned at the top and a field to make a new one.
  • Star or Unstar.
  • Hide, or Unhide in the Hidden view.
  • Delete, which moves to the trash; in the Trash view, Restore and Delete forever instead.
  • In an album view: Remove from album and Set as album cover.
  • Edit… opens the editor, or the video editor for one video.
  • Copy edits on an edited photo, and Paste edits once something has been copied — see Copying edits to other photos.
  • Create virtual copy, Duplicate for editing for videos, and Delete original… for videos that keep one.
  • Convert… and Combine… for videos.
  • Slideshow, Compare & pick and Compare & pick in new window.
  • Find similar and Go to the day.
  • Open in new window and Pin to static screen, for one photo.
  • Reveal in Explorer, with a copy button beside it that copies the file's full path.

Rows that do not apply are greyed out, and hovering one usually says why. When two computers have edited the same photo, the menu also offers Keep this version, Keep the other version and Keep both.
