Open Settings
Open Portman2's Settings with Ctrl+, in the grid, or the cog at the foot of the sidebar, and close it with Esc to come back to where you were.
Settings opens over the window, with the grid behind the glass; the ✕ in the corner, or a click outside it, closes it too.
The sections
- Library — Folder, Thumbnails & video, Caches, Originals and Backup: settings for the library that is open.
- Libraries — every library on this computer.
- Sync — Replicas and QuMagie albums.
- Appearance — overlays, viewer defaults and slideshow defaults.
- Screens — Setup, Styling and Incoming, for Multi screen.
- LAN server — serving the library to phones and other computers.
- Machine learning — the models that find faces, subjects and keywords.
- Privacy — usage reporting. Settings reopens on the pane you last had open.
Jobs started here
A job started in Settings, such as a scan, shows its progress in its pane. Close Settings and it carries on, as a notice at the bottom of the window; click the notice to come back to its pane. See Background jobs.
Several notices and chips elsewhere in the app open Settings straight at the pane they are about — the LAN server running chip, for instance, or Show me on a sync warning.
