Join video clips into one
Join two or more video clips into one new video, in the order you choose — without re-encoding when the clips match. The clips themselves are left as they are.
Starting
Select the clips, right-click and choose Combine…. Photos in the selection are left out, and the dialog says so. Combine… is greyed out, with the reason, when fewer than two videos are targeted; on a computer without FFmpeg it offers to get it.
The dialog
- Order — drag the clips into the order they should play in.
- Date — the new video is filed on the average of the clips' dates. Use Date… and Time… to choose another; when none of the clips has a date you must pick one.
- Output — Keep as is joins the clips without re-encoding a frame, which is only offered when they share every format detail; otherwise, or if you prefer, choose a conversion, and the clips are re-encoded into one MP4 on the first clip's picture.
The dialog says which folder the new video is written into, and refuses with the reason if the clips cannot be combined.
Press Combine. The work can take minutes; its progress, with Stop, is under Thumbnails & video. A stopped combine writes nothing.
